LAMENT
You learn through grief the compassion that is held within the soul. This lament explores grief, its harmony with the spirits, place in song and in the life of the tribes of the Pacific. Laments are often used as a healing tool, at the beginning of this song we hear a West Papuan grieving ceremony. In verse two the Drums of the Dead are performed by Mahaiana, one of the last remaining medicine men in the region. This song features Pascal Oritaimae.
